Difference between different IIM Interviews
Updated: May 4, 2020
In general, an IIM interview has 6 parts. I’ve written about them in detail here. The picture below shows how the length of an IIM interview is split on an average:

But, each IIM has its own focus areas. Across the 8 interviews that I appeared for, I’ve tried to plot that emphasis by using ‘stars’ in the areas that were asked the most:
IIM Ahmedabad:

IIM Bangalore:

IIM Calcutta:

IIM Lucknow:

IIM Indore:

IIM Kozhikode:

IIM Shillong:

IIM CAP:

Out of these 8, I felt that IIM Shillong and IIM CAP interviews were the most lenient and easy-going. IIM Bangalore, IIM Indore, and IIM Kozhikode were casual but also a little on the boring side. IIM Ahmedabad, IIM Calcutta, and IIM Lucknow were the most interesting experiences with some sort of grilling in each.
Here are the interview experiences about which I’ve written:
My profile and background are as follows:
Personal Profile - General | Female | Fresher | Non-Engineer
Academic Profile - X - 10 CGPA | XII - 96.2% | B Com (H) - 8.96 CGPA (till 4th sem) from DU
CAT 2017 Percentile - VA & RC - 98.29 | DI & LR - 99.17 | QA - 95.58 | Overall - 99.09
I had a shortlist from all the IIMs and FMS, I appeared for all except FMS and converted all except IIM Bangalore. Finally, I joined IIM Ahmedabad :)
